parents in training

so apparently, with our new little bundle on the way, professor nershi has enrolled us in the "advanced" pre-parenting class...

let me give you some background information... if you remember here and here we're not using nershi's crate anymore--instead, we're just leaving him in the kitchen when we're gone... which has worked out b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.l.y... REALLY! he's done SUPER!

however, a week or so ago, i thought my "barracade" looked a little sloppy when i came home from work (its a plastic piece of lattice that extends past the "door" frame that goes in to the living room)... and i saw a pillow on the floor and thought "i don't remember that being like that when i left today..." well, i honestly didn't think much about it... the VERY BRIEF thought crossed my mind that nershi had hopped over there to get a toy that had been left in the living room or something...but nothing more than that...after all, he was in the kitchen when i got home...

thursday, i "unexpectedly" came home from work to change clothes before the football game and walked in and couldn't find nershi in the kitchen... then i looked around to find him ZONKED OUT...

...on the sofa... in the living room...

notice how he's arranged the pillows... and DRAGGED THE BLANKET OUT! haha... during all these pictures he had this look on his face like "oooh, mommy's going to kill me! i know i'm not supposed to be over here!"

so, my smart little pooch not only had been sneaking in the living room during the day... but was SMART enough to know when we "normally" came home from work...so he'd be in the kitchen... but mommy came home early thursday... SURPRISE! ...i don't know who was more surprised... me or him :)

i'm just glad i had a camera nearby!
