in honor of valentine's day (a day late...and 364 days early for next year...ha) i thought i'd list the top 10 things about lee...believe me, if i named them all, i'd be typing forever and you'd never finish reading them! (in no particular order)
lee is a fantastic leader for our home...he leads us, prays with me, provides for our family, and never complains when things aren't exactly the way he'd like them to be
lee puts up with me...yes, at times this can be quite a feat! i can be rather cranky and stubborn at times...and he gives me some space and let's me "vent" if i need to...and in addition to putting up with me, he tends to keep me in check
he writes the sweetest cards on special occasions and even on just a regular day! he always encourages me with his sweet words and reminds me of all the things i do right even when i'm having a terrible day!
he's always willing to help around the house when i need him to...whether its cleaning the dishes or folding clothes or taking out the trash or taking nershi out (to potty or running if the pup's in the way)
he calls me at work to check on me and see how my day's going!...its always great to hear from him and it cheers me up if i'm having a bad day!
i love that he still stays in touch with his guy friends...i really feel that's vital to a healthy relationship--each person needs their own time! and it has a way of renewing your own relationship :)
he never complains when i let my work around the house pile up (i guess this could tie in with the one about him helping me when i need him to)...he's very conscientious about knowing when i have a lot on my plate and my housework gets put at the bottom of the list...the dirty clothes pile up, along with the dishes in the sink...and dust begins to collect...and there's little fur balls in the corner...and once its clean (usually while he's at work) he ALWAYS notices as SOON as he walks in the door...this always makes me feel good--ya know, like i didn't do it for nothin'
since we always listen to lee's music in the car, i generally get to be in charge of picking what we watch on tv...and rarely complains, and even enjoys what i watch! this may not seem like a big deal, but it is to me because i'm a tv junkie! :)
there's not a doubt in my mind that lee loves me unconditionally...you see, this is kind of 2 things...lee loves me unconditionally...and he shows me--so i know it!
every day when he gets home from work he sets his stuff down and he gives me a great big, good ole fashioned hug! and i LOVE IT!
i love you, lee...thanks for everything you do!

Okay, you made me cry. I'm so very proud of you two. You are on a great path for doing just what GrannyT & GranddaddyT will be doing this year -- celebrating 50 married years. Don't ever stop being grateful for the big and small ways that you/Lee make life so wonderfully yours.
