happy new year

some things never change...

after a niiiice loong 12 hours of sleep* (after a 2hr nap yesterday), i woke up wanting to be a good wife & fulfill a "kitchen request" from lee... cinnamon rolls for breakfast on new years! i sprinkled them with a little extra cinnamon, but noticed the cinnamon smelled funny... well, that's because it was CUMIN. not even close.

but, lucky for lee (and me...i'm eating them, too!!), i bought two containers... so, i had no hesitation ditching them in the trash for a fresh batch... typical me. what can i say?

oh...the silver lining? we have 2 containers of icing :)

*by the way, my sweet husband did wake me up at midnight just to kiss me... gosh, i love him.

but some things DO!

lee and i have been looking forward to 2010 for quite some time now! not that we wished away 2009, because that was also a great year for us... but we are in full swing of the year of eden!! we are ready to meet her and have had so much fun the last few nights "playing" with her in my belly... she's a very active little girl... and as the pregnancy has flown by, she's getting stronger--making her kicks VERY noticable & maybe already revealing little pieces of her personality ... i can only imagine that this will continue right on up to delivery forever.

the nursery should be done in a matter of weeks... all the parts and pieces are there... just a matter of my handsome hunk of a husband assembling them... mom's coming to paint in the next couple of weeks... got a call about the chair/ottoman being delivered on the 13th... eden's wooden letters should be here soon... and i'm on the hunt for a bookcase & baskets... trying to make up my mind on curtains... then, all we need is BABY!

ahh... and on a slightly funny, but slightly unrelated note... some of you may know that our upstairs is un-lived in... all the house that lee and i ever need is downstairs... but just this past week, i re-did the office (well, i'm still re-doing it), and i noticed it was a little chilly upstairs and the air coming out wasn't all that warm... well, a good friend came by to check it out--you know, since someone IS moving in up there about april... and come to find out, when new units are installed, there's a master switch on the unit that must be flipped... and it was still in the "off" posistion... after 2 years of home-ownership, i'm sure glad i can finally say we have heat upstairs :)... and boy, is it cozy up there!! so, our downstairs unit has been doing all the work for both units... (which may or may not be the accomplishment that seems like--since our living room is open to the 2nd floor, a lot of our heat goes up there anyway)

any-hoo... 2010 is definitely going to be an exciting, memorable, adventurous year... and we couldn't be more excited about it.
