the end of a long week!

maybe not necessarily long in a bad way... well, at least not the WHOLE week! haha

apparently my latest symptom of pregnancy is being a little too easily frustrated.

last night, lee and i decided to attempt our annual family christmas card... the operative word here is attempt...

in this valiant effort, we've discovered that nershi does NOT like to be around the christmas tree... hmm... no wonder we never had a problem with him messing with it... well, my dear husband insisted on having the picture done at the tree instead of us taking the picture whereever we could get nershi to cooperate & look at the camera...

but it doesn't stop here!!! this was after a long day at work, a trip to the grocery store (which was quite energy & time consuming considering i haven't been in months for anything other than what one or two things i was craving or what i needed to make one recipe...), i cooked dinner for the first time in who knows when... AAAAAAAND, it was my bedtime... but i agreed that i would spruce up--since the timing seemed to be right for the rest of the family.

lee and i tried to incorporate eden's arrival somehow... so, we were planning on holding up the pink onesie that i blogged about earlier...

...here was the plan... lee hold the dog & have the onesie ready for me when i hit the shutter button for the 10 second timer... and find my place in the picture after everyone else was situated... easy right?

WRONG...

my camera battery was nearly dead... charger no where to be found... lee's camera battery was all but dead... it takes forever to charge.... and the new video camera doesn't have a timer shot (or a remote)...

at this point, i'm so exhausted & frustrated beyond measure... i can't help but laugh...

now, i will share with you some of the documented attempts... (not all... SOME)

first--we start on the sofa... this turns out to not be the best position/angle for a picture... let alone the fact that lee wouldn't like this picture since you can't see his beard... ugh and not to mention what's going on with that clump of hair on my shoulder!?! ... moving on...

we try again without the flash... that flash is just so bright!!

this is the picture where i say, "ok, lee...have the onesie ready and you hold the dog" ...the dog is no where to be found... and lee threw that thing at me so fast i didn't know which end was up... it was like a hot potato or something... but notice he had puh-lenty of time to smile big for the camera... NEEEXT!"lee!!! can we just go to where the dog is and work with it?! or do we HAAAVE to have our picture done in front of the tree??!!" .... "this flash is too bright... lets try it with out the flash"... and i'll be honest... this picture creeps me out because of lee's hand coming out of the leg of that onesie... yikes.
and this one makes me laugh out loud just LOOKING at it... so, lee had a grasp of the dog, we'd re-evaluated the "onesie toss situation"... but i hit my leg on something as i scurried to my spot, spooked nershi... and he was in the process of gettin' the heck outta there... when FLASH! the picture took...

yeah, basically this picture sums up our night...except for the fact that i look relatively happy & relaxed in the picture.

nershi's face in this says to me "these guys must be nuts to think i'm in the mood to have my picture taken tonite...i'm outta here"

........SOOOOOOOOOO, we will try again ANOTHER NIGHT. maybe tomorrow... i'll keep ya posted...

well, you know the BEAUTIFUL christmas lights i told you about? well, wednesday we had TORRENTIAL rainstorms... and ...well, long story short, the lights are out of commission right now... you know, since lights & electricity don't mix... we're learning :) still considered "new homeowners" by those standards... we'll put them back up later... and i'll post about those before christmas. hopefully. i'm just glad we haven't burned the house down.

on to some more exciting news... we got eden's crib in yesterday... and no, it has not been put together... i told lee to please do it another night... (it came in the same day as we tried to take our family picture)... since apparently things were just not going our way that night... it'd be best to do it another night. and with some help?

by the way--i have a video of lee hauling the box up to her room... and i was so thankful we had image stabilization on the camera because i was laughing HYSTERICALLY watching him haul it upstairs himself... he simply wanted me to document the occasion...

however, i'm still messing with the computer software for the camera (again, things just weren't going our way wednesday night)... some sort of conversion hullabaloo... and that, my friends, was the straw that broke this camel's back... after that last road bump, i was d.o.n.e. i'd had ENOUGH! no, i didn't cry... i just shut down... got really quiet... and wanted to go to bed... so i did.

and just to end on a positive note... (other than the crib)... great strides are being made in miss eden's room... i even ordered something tonite! :-D its coming right along... thanks to some digital voo-doo from mom in helping with paint colors... haha and piecing different colors together... choosing paint colors makes me nervous--very nervous! especially when it involves more than one color!! haha... we're planning on making eden's room a nursery & a playroom (one side nursery, one side playroom) and are toying around with different ideas to seemingly separate the two... lots of ideas that all seem to be meshing together in to a relatively finished project--in my head! we're working on bringing it to life! i can't wait!
