it? today...
today was a celebration of granny & grandaddy's 50th wedding anniversary...
granny's wedding dress, the original cake topper, & many things from the wedding were on display...
the above picture has to be one of my favorites of granny... look at how pretty she (still) is! she looked like a movie star!
mom & lee sang a few (gorgeous) songs...
they walked down the aisle, renewed their vows & cut the most delicious cake... just like a wedding...
we enjoyed a picture/video slideshow that mom made full of pictures of granny & grandaddy when they were younger & "newlyweds"
words were shared about special memories of them & examples of ways they'd reached out to others in the community in times of need & another story shared that was nothing short of a miracle in itself...
18 years ago, after being diagnosed with chronic leukemia, granny's sister bravely donated her bone marrow at johns hopkins hospital to save granny's life & give her a 2nd chance.
pansy, granny's sister, was there with her husband & family to help celebrate an occasion i feel sure wouldn't have been possible without her generous donation... the day wouldn't be complete without sharing that story and remembering just. how. thankful. we are for granny, grandaddy, & family as a whole!! wow.
there was socializing...and eating... because what's one without the other?
there were so many memories shared & made today...
and last but not least... anytime everyone's all dressed up at the same time, you MUST take the opportunity for a family photo shoot... each family & the big family with their own photo shoot!
and last but CERTAINLY not least... i saved this picture for last... it is my favorite picture... i'm headed somewhere this week to get this one enlarged & printed... it must be hanging here in my house somewhere...
my apologies to a lot of you that were photographed & were there... you definitely made the day special & in some way contributed to granny & grandaddy's life, but i am only one woman & blogger isn't cooperating with at least one woman today... after all, family first, right?
...i'll try to get more pictures loaded up here if it will let me... and if i can do it on lee's computer or something (his computer is slower, but he's got a cd drive--which is how all the pictures were given to us... sigh...)
its been a very long & SPECIAL day... wouldn't trade today or anyone you see in these pictures for the world :)

This is so special to me. Thank you for being an over-the-top greatest daughter. Wouldn't trade you or any of the other Hop's either.
love all the pictures, but my favorite one is of your baby bump!!
It's great to see people together in love and married for years. You don't see that everyday now!! We are going on 6 years, but have been together for 11 years, and I think our love is just getting stronger!!!
Looks like you two are on the right road too.
