well, that wasn't the reaction i was expecting...

tonite was emily's 18th birthday/graduation celebration at granny's... brunswick stew... fried chicken... corn & potatoes... and at LEAST 7 cakes... (the line was too long to count at the beginning... and at the end there was none left)

...anyway, after the crowd died down a bit (well, a LOT), i decided to bring nershi back over there to run around and play with the kids... he was very excited about going...

HOWEVER...

when we got there, he heard the loud music (from "rock band" on the projector) and saw LOTS of new people... became very unsure of everything around him and decided he was ready to go home.... NOW!

...of course i felt like a terrible "mom" for even taking him over there... brought him back home right then and he's been like white on rice ever since we walked back through the door...

i guess it goes back to the whole "dogs are like parent trainers" idea because sometimes they produce a reaction that you just totally don't expect... he really blew me away today...

once we got there, it wasn't that i thought he was going to bite someone... or be disruptive... but in my mind before i picked him up, i really just expected him to remain in the middle of a circle of kids just oodling over him... (i never can tell if the dog or the kids love that more!)
