this weekend, i scooted out of work a little early to go with my in-laws to a surprise birthday part for my brother-in-law, kevin...he turned the big 4-0!!
unfortunately, lee had to work...so i went with his mom and dad without him! how could i miss an opportunity to see everyone...especially those sweet girls! :)
i had so much fun spending the day on saturday with steve & jenny...we had dinner...and donuts! and went and hung out at the hotel and just plain ole RELAXED! woo hoo!
we didn't get to see the girls on saturday night since the party was sunday afternoon...we just knew they'd tell their daddy "we saw nana, papa, and aunt hannah!!!"
kevin's mom, sis, and wife (lee's sis) had planned a lovely cookout full of kevin's family and friends...kevin admitted to being "suspicious of something being planned"...but he was shocked to see his in-laws since we were 2 1/2 hours away!!
the weather was PERFECT...in the most perfect way!! somewhere between cool and warm with a pleasant little breeze...i plopped down in the swing on kevin's parent's porch and listened to all the guys pickin' some bluegrass and singing songs...what a fun day!

i had so much fun hanging out with steve and jenny...i have the best set of in-laws EVER!! :)
now i must finish the never-ending chore (aka laundry) and get ready for my mini-project tomorrow...water sealing the deck! and possibly going to look at grills! after all, with an awesome backyard, you must have the proper tools for a COOKOUT! :)
