a night at home

whew, seems these last few weeks have been busy...

even our "nights at home" have been hectic

especially if they are nights following days that were at SCHOOL.

today, i had an unexpected follow up at the dentist and picked up 

a sushi dinner for me and eden to enjoy as soon as i picked her up from school

...this was so nice because i had dinner ready as soon as we walked in the door 

without necessarily having "fast food"

i could watch this girl eat sushi all day long!

cram it in!

and alas, another TREASURE sent home from school today...

A BOAT!

...with an orange triangle, no less.

that's been the focus of some of the lessons recently.

this work of art is most definitely framable!

...the book is hard to frame... but, THIS i can do!

a first

after a long day of what was supposed to be a "minor dental procedure" that turned into even more than the dentist imagined... i had my mind made up to come home and just play in the floor with my precious girl to end the day on a high note...

little did i know, eden was bringing home her first work of art from school...

a book!!

please notice the lovely blue/orange coloring she did on her book

 i do NOT consider it a coincidence that the "doggie doggie" page is more heavily colored than the rest 

...and i would also like to mention that she carried it to me and said

"hey diddle diddle book"

yes, very similar to her trademark "deedle deedle"

but as we read the book, 

she said "hey diddle diddle" [page turn]

 "moo" [page turn] 

"doggie doggie" [page turn]

 "fish" (which happens to sound alot like the word "dish")

i am SO proud...what a work of art! fine/gross motor skills, using her words, AND reading!?!?!

i can't sleep.

probably because i'm too excited

and my mind runs constantly thinking about

PRESCHOOL!

i realize there will be an adjustment period,

but i just get so excited thinking about it.

she's ready.

really ready.

i'll probably be a ball of nerves on monday, 

but now--i'm so excited FOR HER.

i see her playing pretend and her imagination running constantly

and its another reminder of what a blessing she is to our family.

she loves to sing itsy-bitsy spider and wheels on the bus

and dance to any kind of music...

...any kind (yes, that includes lee's taste AND mine)

even commercial jingles :)

she likes to hug her friends and give hi-fives and blow kisses

and is talking c.o.n.s.t.a.n.t.l.y.

(no, i don't always know what she's saying... but she's saying SOMETHING!)

i can't wait until my fridge is plastered with projects and crafts

and i'm looking forward to watching her blossom

(even more so than she already is)

she is just so smart... i'm constantly amazed!

i hope she never extinguishes her desire for learning...

ok... i'm gonna try to go back to sleep.
