if at first you don't succeed...

...TRY ANOTHER RECIPE! haha

i've tried a couple of times to make country style steak and just haven't been able to either re-create the stuff i remember eating as a child, or make it like i'd want to eat it as a grown up...

until tonite! i had some ground beef that i needed to go ahead and fix and decided i'd give it another shot...

1 lb. of ground beef
1 egg
salt & pepper
a few dashes of worchestershire sauce
about 10-15 crumbled ritz crackers
--combine the above to make 8 "meatballs"
1/2 onion sliced very thinly...

coat the bottom of your (not non stick) pan with oil. drop in the onions and let them soften.
add "meatballs" and flatten them out as you put them in the pan (on top of the onions).
then flip 'em over after a few minutes.
when the patties are done, take them out of the pot... pour in water and remove all the good stuff from the bottom of the pan... then add some flour to make your gravy.
once the gravy is as thick/thin as you like it, add your patties back and simmer for 15 minutes or so...

good to begin with. BETTER leftover :)
