it IS the little things...

now that we've been homeowners for nearly two years (wow!)... i've gotten a few notches in my belt in terms of learning to be a bit of a handy man...

however, there've been two things that i've not been able to conquer... our toilets, when flushed, sound like a tuba warming up for the symphony...

and our back door (the one into the backyard...not the garage) has ALWAYS stuck... it stuck when we walked through this house after finding a window open (no realtor needed!)...it was on our punch list for our walkthrough (never fixed)... and it stuck this morning ...FOR THE LAST TIME!!

...you see, its never been a bother since we always went out the front door... but now with our FENCE!! we're ALWAYS out the back door! and i've adjusted that dern thing till i was BLUE in the face!

we had a local handy-man come out to the house (thanks, mr. charlie!!) and replace the valves in our commodes and had to trim about 1/4" off the bottom of our door!!

...and with the completion of those two little tasks, i feel like i live in a nice home that's not falling apart!! lol.. no really, how often do we open that door... and flush the commode! i was constantly encountering the "tuba" and the sticky door... sigh... NOT ANYMORE!! life. is. good. :)

mr. charlie and his helper even did a few other really minor things that i've just been putting off doing (i don't know why... just tedious tasks!)... what a jewel!!
