your friend?

some folks define "friend" as someone who would be willing to go out of their way to do a favor for you...

i would just like to take a moment to remind you that Easter isn't about eggs....or rabbits...or ham...or getting a new dress...

Easter is about Christ Jesus giving up his life and paying for your sin so YOU didn't have to...

do you have a friend that would do THAT for you?

He, who knew no sin, hung on the old splintered, rugged cross with nails in his hands and feet and a crown of thorns pushed in his head and was publicly humiliated and had a spear in his side...all for YOU!

now you may be thinking, yes, but he knew he would do that...he knew it was part of his plan...

yes, he DID know of the plans for his life, but he was HUMAN! he endured this pain for YOU!

but it gets better...after 3 days in the tomb, he was resurrected...he walked the earth again to show the power of the Almighty

i would bet my last dollar, that unless you have a relationship with Jesus Christ...you DON'T have a friend like this!

i recognize that this post just scratches the surface of the sacrifice that Jesus gave for you and what the true meaning is about, but most importantly i want you to know that Easter has nothing to do with baskets or egg hunting or marshmallow peeps...its MUCH bigger than that...

please take just a minute or two...or seven and a half :) to watch this movie on you tube...

my prayer is that you have a REAL reason to CELEBRATE this Easter...a celebration that God loved you so much he sent his only Son to pay for your sins and give you the only path to Heaven...a celebration that is not dampened by an economic recession, or determined by the next american idol...
