and so it begins!

mom came over today for some landcape planning and mapping...we chit-chatted about different ideas...what areas of the yard get the most sun...what to do with "the kidney bean"...and most importantly, what sort of plants i'm not likely to kill :)

had a quick dinner at smithfields and then walked around lowe's garden center...and you know me! i couldn't resist the urge to buy some of these plants and set them in the spots they're going to see how its starting to shape up!

loads of fun!! so far, this is what we're planning...i'll be sure to take "before" & "after" pics when we get diggin'

in front of the garage on the front of the house i'm leaving the hearty bushes that've survived severe drought, cold winters, and my neglect :) (cherry laurel? i'm not sure...they're just here...i never bought those) and behind those guys, we have emerald 'n gold euonymous...
these will go under each garage window... and then in the middle, between the 2 windows, we have....

a japonica camellia...and i just realized the white color i purchase is called "auburn white"...mom, don't tell david! :)

we're also going for a crepe myrtle or two...and the knockout roses...(just like the one i recently got from the flower fairy, but in a bush--not a tree)

we're also looking to possibly "relocate" a plant or two...since apparently there are some plants they put very close to our house that are supposed to get HUGE!

i'm super excited and can't wait to see how this all turns out! its still a little early for some of the plants that i want to plant but it's not going to get done overnight, anyway! :)

i can't wait to see the transformation...and share it with my faithful blog readers! :)

AUBURN? Oh my! It was fun fun fun. Can't wait to whittle away at it with you! Let's hope with some coaching, some help from the Good Lord in bringing just the right amount of rain & sunshine (NO DROUGHT!), and YOUR TLC and maturing brown to green thumb -- that we can get you Yard Of The Week (start small, aim high!) Loveyoumeanit.
