the weekend warrior

what was i thinking?!?! i finally decided to paint the 1/2 bath...

after work i went to the sherwin williams store and got everything i would need for my "project"

paint, drop cloth, painters tape, primer, paint, spackle, trays, rollers, adjustable handles, and even a little pep talk from joe! haha

it took me forever to tape everything and get the drop cloth cut/taped to lay properly...then i started to do the corners and the trim stuff...

...and this is when i remember what a perfectionist i am about this sort of stuff...sigh...i accidentally panited on the ceiling! well, what really happened is once i'd taped everything other than the top of the wall where it touches the ceiling, i realized i didn't have a ladder/step stool long enough to reach (this is where i should have stopped)

but, i persevered and tried to be a little more relaxed and reminded myself about every 30 seconds "its ok, we can fix the little spots...just keep going"

poor little nershi knew not to come on the drop cloth and just layed there and stared at me...moral support, i suppose!

finally, i'd done all of the paint brush work, and was ready for the roller--this was a needed boost of confidence--more painting per stroke (you know me...EFFECIENCY!) and i really felt like i was covering the red! woo hoo!

but i had to be extra careful with the pole--bumping into the other walls...its a SUPER tiny 1/2 bath with a funny little L shape--sink in one part of the L, and toilet in the other...and by the time i was on the last wall, i thought i was going to drop!

time will tell, but joe at SW warned me i may need 2 coats of primer...but he got me the better grade of paint that should only need 1 coat...we'll see

so for now...i have a grayish bathroom...with a few spots of red poking through (mostly at the verrrrry top)...depending on how i feel tomorrow, i've got to get the step stool from the store that goes a little higher...and i'll prime if i must!

i think this project will take a little longer than i originally thought...but it will be worth it...however, i must say after i realized i couldn't reach the top with the stuff i had here tonite, i asked myself "gee, was the red really that bad?" haha...

FRANGIPANE will look much better! its a VERY PALE orangey peachy color...

oh, and i did remember to take before pictures...but i'll post them all at the same time--with my FINISHED PRODUCT pictures! yippee!

it'd be GREAT if i could finish by tomorrow...then i could CHILL monday...but i'll probably be painting then, too :(
