11 years

I'd like to take just a minute to remember my Uncle Larry, my Dad's identical twin brother.

He was happily married with a 6 month old daughter and on a Sunday afternoon, we all had lunch at Granny's as a family. After lunch, just he and I sat in the living room and talked about all of his future plans for the hardware store while everyone was still in the kitchen eating/cleaning. Little did I know, this would be the last time I saw him. Late that afternoon, we got a call that the burglar alarm had gone off....he'd driven to the store and took his life.

We were OVERWHELMED by the shock of the event and the outpouring of love and encouragement from the community.

We are still saddened by his absence here on earth, but feel his presence daily and think of him all the time. I am saddened by the fact that he never met Lee and will never meet my children, but am certain they would have gotten along great! However, my greatest comfort is knowing that he's no longer in pain or struggling--he's with his Savior in Heaven....I'm certain.

We have so many wonderful memories to hang on to--breakfast dates at Peedie's, going to concerts, going to NASCAR Races, his love for Wendell and the people, playing with the kids at Granny & Grandaddy's, listening to him and Dad tell funny "twin" stories, his excitement during the birth of his little girl...I could go on for days.

This is also a plea that if you are struggling with depression, please tell someone and get help--you're worth it! Your family and friends want to help!

Uncle Larry, We all love and miss you so much and can't wait to see you again someday! :)
